Instead of the usual Cup Day Function at the club this year we are instead going back to an old tradition and holding a Melbourne Cup Calcutta Night on Cup Eve. Join us from 6pm on Monday 31st at the Club. The Auction is to be conducted by Everyones Favourite – Burt Smith.

In case you are unfamiliar with how a Calcutta works all the horses in the Cup go onto a board and are auctioned off 1 by 1 and then ‘sold’ to the highest bidder. The money raised goes into a pool and are divided up and paid out to the winners.

It has most recently been held on Cup Day straight after the race before the Cup up until they are just about ready to jump in the Cup and is usually won by CABS lol.

The Calcutta is designed as a fun and different way to enjoy the Melbourne Cup, so join us this year for an evening with some fun, a good laugh, and excitement.
